Meet Dr. Jeanette Johnson
Citadel Oral and Facial Surgery is pleased to announce a new part time associate has joined its group. Dr. Jeanette “JJ” Johnson will be working in our practice and we are excited to have her aboard. For those of you who do not know Jeanette yet, she is a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University (2009) and a current member of the Canadian Armed Forces. Following Dentistry graduation she worked in general practice within the military for six years, then Dr. Johnson was selected by the Canadian Armed Forces for postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Her residency was based out of the world’s largest and busiest medical centre – The Texas Medical Center. During her time in Houston Dr Johnson regularly treated patients with severe facial trauma, advanced pathology, head and neck infections, jaw deformities, and complex medical conditions. She completed her residency then successfully challenged the specialty board examination, leading her to now be a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (OMFS).
Currently, Dr. Johnson is posted full time to Canadian Forces Base Halifax as the Atlantic region oral and maxillofacial surgeon treating military patients from around the Maritimes. Dr. Johnson will be working select evening hours and some full days in our practice and the Citadel Surgery team feels she will be a great asset! Many patients will find evening appointments convenient for their busy schedules, and we are pleased to re-offer this enhanced service for your patients.
Your referrals will be treated as usual by Citadel’s administrative team. Your preference for a particular surgeon will always be honoured. In cases where a patient referral has no specific doctor requested, we will appoint that patient based on their convenience. We feel many patients will appreciate having an evening appointment option and we are honored to have Dr. Johnson provide this service.
